If there’s one service that gives you more for less than anything else we do, it’s a gloss.

Fifteen minutes and $35. It knocks brassiness out of blonde, corrects yellow or orange tones, deepens and refreshes faded color, and — the part people notice most — makes your hair genuinely shiny. Not product shine that washes out. Actual light reflecting off a smoothed cuticle.

It’s the most-added service in our color room for a reason. Once clients try one, most never skip it again.

What a gloss actually does

A gloss is a demi-permanent, translucent color that sits on the hair’s surface rather than lifting or depositing deep pigment. Three things happen:

Tone gets corrected — Blonde going brassy, highlights turning yellow, brunette pulling orange — gloss neutralizes all of it. This is what a toner does, and toner and gloss are largely the same service.
Shine goes way up — The gloss smooths and seals the cuticle so light reflects evenly instead of scattering. This is the effect people mean when they say salon hair looks different.
Color gets refreshed — Faded color regains depth and saturation without a full color service.

Critically, it does none of this by damaging your hair. There’s no lift, no ammonia, no processing — it’s conditioning if anything.

When to get one

Between color appointments — A gloss at the six-to-eight-week mark refreshes your tone and buys you real time before your next full service. It’s the cheapest way to stretch out expensive color.
Whenever brassiness shows up — Blondes especially — water, sun, and time pull warmth into lightened hair. A gloss resets it.
Before an event — If you want your hair looking its absolute best for a wedding, photos, or a big occasion, a gloss the week before is the single highest-impact thing you can do.
On its own, anytime — You don’t need to be having other color done. Plenty of clients book a standalone gloss just for the shine.

Gloss with your other services

A gloss finishes almost everything. After balayage it perfects the tone of the painted ends. After foils it tones out any unwanted warmth from lightening. After a root touch-up it refreshes ends that the root color didn’t touch. Mention it when you book and we’ll build it into the appointment.

What's the difference between a gloss and a toner?

Practically speaking, very little — both are demi-permanent, translucent services that adjust tone and add shine. “Toner” usually emphasizes neutralizing unwanted warmth; “gloss” emphasizes shine and richness. Same service, different focus.

How long does a gloss last?

Typically four to six weeks, fading gradually rather than growing out with a line. Sulfate-free shampoo extends it.

Will a gloss damage my hair?

No — the opposite, if anything. There’s no lifting or harsh processing. Most clients find their hair feels smoother and healthier afterward.

Can a gloss fix my brassy blonde?

That’s one of its main jobs. A gloss neutralizes yellow and orange tones and restores a cleaner, cooler blonde. If the brassiness is severe or uneven, we might recommend color correction instead — we’ll tell you which at a look.

Can I get a gloss without any other color service?

Absolutely. Plenty of clients book a standalone gloss purely for shine and tone.

Will it change my color?

Only subtly, and only in the direction you want — it refreshes and adjusts tone rather than changing your shade. If you want a real color change, that’s an all-over color.
