Fixing that is the single most-booked service at Jessabella, and it’s the one we’ve done more times than anything else in the salon. A regrowth service colors only your new growth, blending it seamlessly into your existing color so there’s no line, no banding, and no obvious “here’s where the dye starts.”
It’s tempting to think pulling color through the whole head is more thorough. It’s actually the fastest way to wreck good hair.
Your ends have already been colored — sometimes several times. Every additional pass deposits more pigment and more processing onto hair that doesn’t need it, which is how you end up with dark, muddy, over-saturated ends and a texture that feels like straw. Coloring only the regrowth keeps the rest of your hair intact.
If your ends need refreshing, that’s what a gloss is for — five or ten minutes at the end, evens out the tone, adds shine, no damage.
Gray hair is more resistant than pigmented hair — coarser, less porous, and stubborn about accepting color. Handled badly you get patchy coverage or a flat, opaque, obviously-dyed look.
We formulate specifically for gray coverage: the right developer, the right processing time, and enough tonal variation that the result reads as your hair color rather than a helmet. The goal is nobody knowing.

High contrast — dark natural growth under blonde, or heavy gray under a deep shade — shows sooner, so those clients tend to book every four to five weeks. Lower contrast can stretch to eight.
One practical note: if you go much past two inches of regrowth, it stops being a straightforward touch-up. Sun and time affect grown-out hair unevenly, so you may have two different tones in that new growth, and correcting it takes longer and costs more. Booking your next appointment before you leave is the cheapest way to avoid that.
Sulfate-free, color-safe shampoo — this matters more than any other single thing. Wash in cooler water, wash less often than you think you need to, and use heat protectant. A gloss every six to eight weeks between full services keeps the tone fresh and buys you time.
